In Synthetic Cubism instead of trying to represent the object from all sides at once, the object would now be made out of abstract parts. Graphic design was left out of the cubist movement for the most part. Now we can see the influences of the fragmented style used within elements of graphic design.
In Analytic Cubism three dimensional objects are presented on a single plane with all angles represented as separate panels on that plane. This form of Cubism is named because the artist needs to analyze the object in order to present the object from all sides.
The fragmented style of analytic cubism was used also by graphic designers. This fragmentation of the syntax in type lead to “concrete poetry.” The type now physically represented in some way what the words symbolically represented.
